Certification Exam

  1. The CMRP exam contains 110 multiple-choice questions with four possible answers and only one correct answer, and candidates have 2.5 hours to complete the exam.
  2. The exam is computer-based and delivered at Pearson VUE testing centers worldwide, including more than 5,000 locations and military base sites.
  3. To schedule the exam, candidates must register with SMRP, pay the exam fee, and then use their SMRP login to select a testing date and location through Pearson VUE.
  4. Exam fees vary based on membership status: SMRP members pay $300 USD, nonmembers pay $470 USD, and sustaining sponsor employees or U.S. military veterans pay $250 USD.
  5. SMRP membership (separate from the exam) costs approximately $170 per year and offers benefits such as exam fee discounts etc.
  6. The CMRP exam covers the five pillars of the SMRP Body of Knowledge: business and management, equipment reliability, manufacturing process reliability, organization and leadership, and work management.
  7. No external reference materials are allowed during the exam; candidates may use the online calculator provided at the testing center.
