Kubernetes Fundamentals will give you a strong operating knowledge of Kubernetes, including how to deploy a containerized application and manipulating resources via the API.
The Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) program provides assurance that CKAs have the skills, knowledge, and competency to perform the responsibilities of Kubernetes administrators.
Who Is It For:
This certification is for Kubernetes administrators, cloud administrators and other IT professionals who manage Kubernetes instances.
What You’ll Learn:
This course will teach you how to use the container management platform used by companies like Google to manage their application infrastructure. You will learn how to install and configure a production-grade Kubernetes cluster, from network configuration to upgrades to making deployments available via services. The course also distills key principles, such as pods, deployments, replicasets, and services, and will give you enough information so that you can start using Kubernetes on your own.
What It Prepares You For:
A certified K8s administrator has demonstrated the ability to do basic installation as well as configuring and managing production-grade Kubernetes clusters. They will have an understanding of key concepts such as Kubernetes networking, storage, security, maintenance, logging and monitoring, application lifecycle, troubleshooting, API object primitives and the ability to establish basic use-cases for end users.
Merit Global is an authorized trainer partner of Linux Foundation for their certification programs. We distribute certification exam vouchers with supporting courses at good discounts.

Before starting this course, you should be familiar with:
There are no pre-requisites for CKA exam.
For hands-on lab exercises, access to a Linux server or Linux desktop/laptop is required. Access to a public cloud provider, or VirtualBox on your machine is also needed. Lab exercises in this course have been tested in a GCP environment.
If using a cloud provider like GCP or AWS, you should be able to complete the lab exercises using the free tier or credits provided to you. However, you may incur charges if you exceed the credits initially allocated by the cloud provider.
The CKA was created by the Linux Foundation and the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) as a part of their ongoing effort to help develop the Kubernetes ecosystem. The exam is online, proctored, performance-based test that requires solving multiple tasks from a command line running Kubernetes.
Once enrolled you will receive access to an exam simulator, provided by Killer.sh, allowing you to experience the exam environment. You will have two simulation attempts (36 hours of access for each attempt from the start of activation). Each CKA simulator session has 17 questions, and you will receive a different set of questions (17 total) in each attempt. The simulation will provide graded results.
The CKA exam environment will be aligned with the most recent K8s minor version within approximately 4 to 8 weeks of the K8s release date.
As cloud‑native technologies and container orchestration continue to reshape modern IT environments, Kubernetes has become the industry standard for managing containerised applications. The Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification, offered by the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), validates your hands‑on ability to deploy, configure, manage, scale and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters - skills that are in high demand across industries.
CKA focuses on practical, real‑world administration tasks such as cluster architecture, networking, storage, workload scheduling and troubleshooting. It prepares you for operational roles that are central to DevOps, SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) and cloud infrastructure teams.
CKA certification offers strong career and salary benefits in the United States and globally. With Kubernetes skills highly sought after in cloud‑native organisations, CKA‑certified professionals are well positioned for well‑paid technical roles:
- 1. Certified Kubernetes Administrators in the U.S. commonly earn between $110,000 and $150,000 per year, with variation based on experience and location.
- 2. In major tech hubs such as San Francisco, Seattle, and New York, salaries for experienced Kubernetes professionals can range from around $150,000 to $180,000+ per year.
- 3. Senior roles - such as Lead Platform Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, and Cloud Infrastructure Architect - often command salaries exceeding $180,000 per year, particularly in high‑demand markets.
Beyond financial rewards, CKA certification enhances your professional credibility, demonstrates your operational expertise with Kubernetes, and positions you for roles across DevOps, cloud engineering, and infrastructure management teams.
By earning the Certified Kubernetes Administrator certification, you establish yourself as a highly capable cloud‑native professional ready to support mission‑critical workloads and advance your career in one of the most in‑demand technology domains.
